Happy to list the last tea from the winter 2023 harvest, the Winter Nilgiri Needle Green. This time, we just went and grabbed this amazing green from the estate, eliminating the risk of not getting this tea. Always made in very low quantites, this is one of the most unique green teas from the region and from all of India to be honest. The estate was kind enough to offer an amazing price and we are happy to pass on the benefit to you once again!
The dry leaf has hints of apricots and sweet corn, when placed on the heated ware it emanates a creamy aroma with a floral background. The first sip greets you with the notes of apricots and grass. There is a spicy finish to it, resembling green bell pepper. As you sip further, you notice notes of armenian cucumber. This tea shines particularly when brewed gong fu style, with each infusing bringing various refreshing notes together. The first infusion when made gong fu style has a delicious creamy sweetness along with notes of apricots and mangoes. It tastes closer to the western brew second steep onwards, but the aftertaste when brewed gong fu style is much more strong and long lasting. You get sweetness of Indian gooseberry on the finish with both the styles of brewing. We are looking forward for you to enjoy these newly listed teas soon!
