After two years of exquisite wintertime teas from Nilgiri mountains, we present our first tea from the spring season, 2021 Spring Nilgiri White!
Harvested in the last week of April 2021, the spring vigour is clearly the defining factor of this tea. While the winter harvest is known for its soft and delicate character, the spring season in the Nilgiri adds a rustic punch to all its teas. Being the only region to harvest teas all year round, it is interesting to see how much of a difference can be felt between these two harvests.
The dry leaf has a distinct mango like aroma, when placed on the heated ware, it blasts off a vanilla and cream note. You notice notes of mango candy and white flowers during your initial sips. As the tea cools down, there is a pleasant astringency and a sweet vegetal finish to it. There are some sweet yellow flower notes akin to yellow oleander. The mango note also lingers on your taste buds for a long time, leaving you refreshed long after you've had your last sip.
